Pendleton Watercolor League to Exhibit at Menne Nursery

The Pendleton Watercolor League will be exhibiting their artwork at Menne Nursery during Menne’s Spring Celebration the weekend of April 21 & 22, 2011.

The Pendleton Watercolor League has been meeting for seven years at the Pendleton Center United Methodist Church at Bear Ridge Road and Campbell Blvd. Led by Virginia Kelly, the classes meet for 2 hours twice weekly to explore the medium of watercolor. Their goals are to inspire each other to improve skills and develop self expression while cultivating friendships in a social setting. The artists hope to more fully respond to and interpret nature and the seasons through water color.

The League has met and worked on site at Menne Nursery during the winter months, where they have continued to create paintings using live plants and natural materials. All paintings are for sale at nominal prices.

Featuring a How-To on arranging and maintaining flower bouquets and vases. Menne specialists will also provide gardening tips like when and how to cut and handle flowers from your garden.

Saturday May 12
2:00 PM - Menne Nursery Container Garden Demonstration
Menne Nursery specialists will advise on various types of container gardens, which plants require more sun or shade and how to maintain your garden.

Sunday May 13

Menne Nursery wins Best of Show at Plantasia

Spring is in the air!  Plan your garden and enjoy a spring setting at Plantasia: Taste of Spring, the Western New York Nursery & Lanscape Association's Garden & Landscape Show.  Now through Sunday at the Hamburg Fairgrounds. 

Plantasia opened Wedensday evening with a preview night and continues through Sunday, March 25, at 5:00 pm.  Menne Nursery was awarded Best in Show for their "Tasteful Garden" featuring a backyard patio setting that identified which plants are tasteful to Butterflies, Hummingbirds and Birds in general.  A unique water feature is constructed of bowls made from recyled concrete by artist John Lamos.
